  • Deployed West Indies and west coast of South America Sep 1965-Jan 1966, visited Valparaiso, Chile, and Callao, Peru.
  • Deployed West coast South America Mar-May 1966 and South Pacific May-Jun 1966.

  • Deployed South America Jan-Jun 1967 circumnavigating the South American continent.
  • Deployed Indian Ocean Aug-Dec 1967.
  • Visited Monrovia, Liberia.
  • Deployed West coast Africa and Indian Ocean Jun-Nov 1968.
  • Stopped at Recifé, Brazil on return.
  • Deployed with sixth fleet in Mediterranean Jun-Nov 1969. Much time spent near Kithera, Greece and Crete.
  • Board of Inspection and Survey in Nov 1969 declared USS Belmont to be of limited Naval service.
  • Decommissioned and struck from Navy list 16 Jan 1970.
